Just to cap this off, here’s a video of Carl Palmer’s drum solo from the concert I went to on April 20th in St. Charles, IL.

Hello, everyone! This blog hasn’t been updated in a long time, but I hope to fix that. Sometimes it’s a bit hard when it seems like the same pictures are going around. I’ll try to dig up some others which haven’t been posted yet when I get the chance. Life’s been a bit hectic lately.
Anyway, I wanted to make this post to sort of touch on the concert I went to with some other ELP fans on Saturday, April 20th at the Arcada Theater in St. Charles, IL. Yours truly is the blondie in the bottom pictures. I went with Sara (fellow creator of this blog), my cousin Amanda (not pictured in any of these), Mary Lou, and Melissa. I’ve seen Carl’s band three times now and each time has been pretty spectacular in my opinion. Always a great show! This time, though, I got the chance to have my picture taken with the man himself. How neat is that? As you can imagine, a group of young women draws attention at these sort of concerts since there are mostly guys in the audience who are (put truthfully) our parents’ ages. At this point, I’m a bit used to it since I’ve seen Emerson & Lake once in 2010, Carl’s band 3 times, Asia twice, and Greg Lake once last year. This, however, was a slightly different time since we got together with two other girls I know from Tumblr. Us female prog fans on Tumblr came up with the nickname “progaboos” for ourselves (I wish that I remembered who coined the term), so here is a small portion of us so-called progaboos.
Each time I’ve seen Carl’s band, it seems like it just gets better than the last. The setlist this time around (even though I loved the past ones also) was probably my favorite. Sara and I personally enjoyed hearing “Knife Edge” since it’s a favorite song of ours. I also really loved that “Tarkus” was played in full. Especially since that was the song that really got me into ELP in 2009. They always bring so much energy to the songs and the fans go crazy. I’m happy Mary Lou went this time since this was her first time seeing any member of ELP in concert. I think it left a great impression on her. In fact, we’ve all been talking about it for a while now and it’s been over three days. So, I guess to end this I’ll just say, go see these guys if they ever come to your area because they always give a great show! ♥
